Fundraising Experience:
As it is rightly said:
“No one has ever become poor by giving” ~Anne Frank
We have been assigned a task to collect funds for “Edhi Foundation”
It is one of the best social welfare service providers across the world. They are serving round-the-clock without any discrimination of color, class, and creed. But due to the sad demise of the founder of this organization “Abdul Sattar Edhi Sab” back in 2016 till than unfortunately, they are short of funds as now the organization is being run by his son “Faisal Edhi”
“No religion is higher than humanity” ~Abdul Sattar Edhi

We were advised to collect as many funds as possible in a time duration of two weeks. We also have to submit all the donations that we have collected in this time to the organization by hand.
Keeping in mind the pandemic situation we planned to collect donations through the help of social media platforms.
We made creative/appealing “Graphic Posters” to make the donors aware of our goal. We have also shared online transaction details of our account on the posters.

We have also posted statuses on our social media handles about the details of the activity. To draw the interest of people in our campaign.

It was an overall good experience collecting funds for a social cause. As most of us in our group have never done this kind of activity before.
We decided to make a strategy group-wise but to collect the money individually as we all were present in different regions of the country and due to COVID 19 we cannot raise the funds socially. So, keeping that in mind we decided to make good use of the social platform for this Nobel purpose.
Some of the people were kind enough to send us donations on time. As well as they also appreciated us for doing this kind of activity.

Due to the novel coronavirus, the only source which was available for us was to collect the money was online. Which was one of the biggest problem which made our audience limited. But we tried our best!
We faced a lot of rejections from people. It was very difficult to convince people to give funds. The major challenge was rejection and the online system. Most people don’t know how to transfer money online as this methodology is new for most people. So we have also made a tutorial on “how to transfer money through online transactions” to ease our donors.

This experience helped us in accepting failures as people were not donating and ignoring this all. We had to send constant messages and reminders to the people individually but they didn’t respond or sometimes they say okay we’ll donate but in the end, We didn’t receive anything from their side.
Most people denied donating anything and we all got dis-hearted at one point. But we all encouraged each of our group members to not lose hope and keep up the good work.
In the time of failure, we all reminded each of our members about the Nobel cause we are working for which gave us motivation. We all mustered up our courage and again started collecting funds with a lot of hope.
We all have learned great lessons from this activity. We have worked with a pure heart for a Novel cause. We knew that we will face failure in this regard. But while working practically out of our comfort zones we came to know about the real challenges more closely than before. But we faced them with dignity and passion and ultimately we succeeded in collecting a pretty good amount for our project.
Donating means showing a sense of responsibility towards the betterment of the world.

If God has given you enough it means you can use that money in helping the underprivileged in any way. The sense of happiness and joy that comes after helping others is matchless. Charity is a kind of a barrier against any misfortune/mishap that might be coming your way.
“Give charity without delay for it stands in way of calamity.” ~Al-Tirmdhi
